Virtual Therapy in Illinois
Support for where you are. Skills for where you're going.
I graduated with my Master of Social Work from Aurora University. I have had experience with mental health conditions in a variety of settings, with the most recent being in community mental health.
Through internships, working for a hospital, a non-profit, and in a communty setting, I feel I have truly honed my approach in the therapy setting. Every client receives individualized care, as therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach.
Why I Became
a Therapist
I became a therapist because life is messy- and people deserve a place where they don't have to pretend it isn't.
I've always been interested in what's beneath the surface: the thoughts we don't say out loud, the patterns we get stuck in, and the ways we cope when things feel overwhelming.
Therapy shouldn't feel clinical or disconnected- it should feel real, honest, and actually helpful.
My approach is straightforward, supportive, and grounded in helping you understand yourself while building the tools you need to handle whatever life throws your way.
"I'm not here to fix you, simply because you aren't broken. I am here to help you find your strength again, and find your way back to your most authentic self."
My Therapeutic Approach
In each session, I will use a person-centered approach. Meaning, you are the decider on what is focused on in session and you control the pace in your own disclosures. I will ask clarifying questions to ensure I gain a full understanding.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
We'll explore the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and develop practical strategies to shift unhelpful patterns.
Trauma-Informed Care
I understand that trauma lives in the body and the nervous system, not just the mind. Our work will honor your pace and prioritize your sense of safety above all else.
Mindfulness-Based Techniques
I'll introduce grounding and mindfulness practices to help you stay present, manage overwhelming emotions, and reconnect with your body.
Reality-Focused Therapy
I'll guide you in taking control of your life by focusing on what you can change right now. Instead of getting stuck in the past, we'll look at your current choices, relationships, and goals. Together, we'll identify what you truly want, explore what is and isn't working, and create practical steps to help you move forward.
Solution-Focused Therapy
Using a strengths-based perspective, we'll explore what is working in your life. We'll explore what you would like to be different and build small, realistic steps to help you get there.
